tumblelog wordpress themes? Nice idea? Probably!

Simple themes can make simple content shine. Be it ‘I’ve gone to the store’ simple, or ‘10 line product review’ simple. Ultimate simplicity can be found in a tumblelog format - TumbleJack provides some pretty clever mootools operated jaziness.
“Because sometimes you need more control over your tumblelog! Most themes for WordPress are “full-featured”, and [...]

girly wordpress themes

Following this post I had a chat with Grace from paper wings and started thinking about the girlier side of wordpress. We’re not talking female here, we’re talking GIRLY. Pink, cutesy, ribbons and kittens GIRLY. Still confused… this might help:

NOW you get it. Okay, lets get started with a few places to find girly themes, [...]

Themes: CLI = cool

Command Line Interfaces are just plain cool. GUIs are for wimps! This theme turns your blog into an old Commodore 64 running a CLI, user friendly it ain’t. If I need to explain why you’d want to use this, you don’t want to use this.

If you are thinking, ‘yeah thats sweet, but the C64 was [...]

themes: girly, pink and pixelart

Pixelart is tough. Buy joyous when it works! Usually it looks like lego, or starwars. That, I think, is because guy nerds make most of it. This theme is all the better because it takes a totally girly approach. I mean seriously, ribbons?!?!
The usual downloads, previews, etc… are all here. Have a rummage around [...]

Apply a seriously freaky background to the <body> and a [...]

themes: itheme

If you managed to resist the iphone theme, but own a mac, then this may be for you. The right hand sidebar is user rearrangable. Fully widgetted, and drag and droppable for the reader, this should be an interesting theme to try out.

When you rearrange the sidebar it stays how you set it as [...]

Themes: cleanly different Capri 1.0

This theme provides, in my opinion, a very strong base for successful modest customisation (or pimpin‘).

Some themes are just too distinct, and can be spotted a mile off, like Misty or Kubrik, even when they get a new colour scheme and header image. This theme would give a very different feel with such changes, and [...]

theme: fresco by milienzo.com

This theme works for me on a couple of levels. Firstly it’s a nicely flexible, colourful, uncluttered theme.

Secondly, I like the way the theme got released, from the designers blog:
I have had lots of positive feedback and one or two people have emailed me asking if they could use my WordPress theme.
The style and branding [...]
