tips speedlink: WordPress Optimisation

A nice article on WordPress optimisation focussing on the early days, just after you set up your installation (some of the topics apply to hosted options too) by Scott at meridiancrest.

The mybloglog advice is the only part of this that I would apply a health warning to. Unless you really want a random selection of what some might describe as R-rated profile pics appearing on your blog you probably want to follow my lead and use the tiny versions of the pictures of recent visitors (look at the footer of this page).

Apart from that one gripe it’s been a good route for new readers to arrive here.

    Sorry Scot - it’s not Scott - it’s Scot. I knew that!

    Steve,

Thanks for the shoutout! I agree about the MBL avatars and will probably change mine, too. That’s something I’ve also learned.
